The story behind Human State Training
The HST Programme was created by Ollie Frost and Pete Craig in 2025, following decades of individual experience and the observation of a clear need within organisations for a more person-centred approach to wellbeing through self-leadership.
The story continues..
Human State Training was born from a simple observation:
People were not failing because they lacked motivation.
They were overwhelmed because their nervous systems were overloaded.
In high-pressure environments, traditional performance training kept asking people to push harder, think faster, and stay positive.
But beneath the surface, stress chemistry, unprocessed emotion, and survival responses were running the show. The gap between knowledge and lived experience kept growing.
The founders began asking a different question:
What if performance starts in the body, not the mind?
Drawing from neuroscience, somatic psychology, and real-world work with leaders, clinicians, and teams, Human State Training emerged as a practical bridge between human biology and modern demands. It reframed resilience not as toughness, but as the ability to regulate, recover, and relate under pressure.
Instead of teaching people to override stress, the program teaches them to understand it. Participants learn how attention, breath, posture, and perception shape their internal state and how small, repeatable shifts create measurable changes in clarity, connection, and decision-making.
Human State Training exists because the future of performance is not about forcing output. It is about mastering state.
And when people learn to work with their nervous system instead of against it, capacity expands naturally.
